I graduated from Capella University and earned a masters degree in Human Services with a specialization in Mental Health Counseling in 2012. In 2013, I obtained a Certificate in Contemporary Theory of Compulsive and Addictive Behavior from Capella University and earned a Certificate in Play Therapy in 2015. I plan to receive my Play Therapy license in July 2018. I have over 30 years of experience working with children, adolescents, parents, adults, families and groups, including the juvenile justice system with the juvenile drug court program. I utilize a non-directive client-centered approach, which provides a safe and secure environment where individuals can explore strategies to effectively grow and make healthy changes in their lives. My passion is working with children and adolescents with substance use, anxiety, depression, anger, and defiant behaviors. I have worked in a variety of settings, including outpatient and intensive in-home.
